Burcott & District Riding Group, which is part of the Riding for the Disabled Association, has been established for over 30 years and we ride at the Burcott Riding Centre, near Wells. Our riders come to us from local schools and attend our sessions which are always held on a Tuesday during term time. welcome

Mae Grŵp Marchogaeth Burcott a’r Cylch, sy’n rhan o’r Gymdeithas Marchogaeth i’r Anabl, wedi’i sefydlu ers dros 30 mlynedd ac rydym yn reidio yng Nghanolfan Farchogaeth Burcott, ger Wells. Mae ein beicwyr yn dod atom o'r ardal leol ac yn mynychu ein sesiynau sydd bob amser yn cael eu cynnal ar ddydd Mawrth yn ystod y tymor. Mae marchogion yn dod fel unigolion gyda rhiant neu ofalwr, neu o fewn grŵp o'u hysgol.
Ein nod yw darparu sesiwn therapiwtig sydd fel arfer yn cynnwys marchogaeth ond a fydd hefyd yn cynnwys treulio amser gyda’n ceffylau a’n merlod, dod i’w hadnabod a dysgu sut i ofalu amdanynt. Profwyd bod treulio amser gyda cheffylau yn lleihau pryder, yn annog rhyngweithio, yn cynyddu hunan-barch ac yn hwyluso mynegiant teimladau ac emosiynau. Mewn termau corfforol mae marchogion yn ymarfer dros gant o gyhyrau'r funud, heb yn wybod hynny, gan wneud pob taith i'r stablau yn sesiwn ffisiotherapi diarwybod.

Spending time with horses is proven to reduce anxiety, encourage interaction, increase self-esteem and facilitate the expression of feelings and emotions.

Burcott & District Riding Group, which is part of the Riding for the Disabled Association, has been established for over 30 years and we ride at the Burcott Riding Centre, near Wells.  Our riders come to us from the local area and attend our sessions which are always held on a Tuesday during term time.  Riders come as individuals with a parent or carer, or within a group from their school.

Our aim is to provide a therapeutic session which normally involves riding but will also include spending time with our horses and ponies, getting to know them and learning about how to look after them.  Spending time with horses is proven to reduce anxiety, encourage interaction, increase self-esteem and facilitate the expression of feelings and emotions.  In physical terms riders exercise over a hundred muscles a minute, without knowing it, making each trip to the stables an unwitting physiotherapy session.

Our group is entirely self-funding and is made up of a band of wonderful volunteers who give their time not only on a Tuesday but also whenever we are involved in a fundraising activity.

Mae ein grŵp yn gwbl hunan-gyllidol ac yn cynnwys criw o wirfoddolwyr gwych sy'n rhoi o'u hamser nid yn unig ar ddydd Mawrth ond hefyd pryd bynnag y byddwn yn cymryd rhan mewn gweithgaredd codi arian.
